P. Diddy’s Ex Testifies in Court: Emotional Breakdown and Details of “Freak Offs” Emerge
NEW YORK — The ongoing trial of music mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs took an emotional turn as one of his former girlfriends, known in court as “Jane,” broke down in tears while testifying about her experiences in the relationship, including so-called “freak offs” and alleged coercion.
During Friday’s proceedings, court reporter Elizabeth provided detailed insights into Jane’s testimony, noting that the witness became visibly emotional on the stand, particularly when describing the duration and frequency of the sexual encounters orchestrated by Combs. Jane recounted episodes where she felt exhausted and overwhelmed, sometimes signaling to Combs that she needed a break, only for more escorts to be brought in for further sexual acts.
Despite the emotional testimony, Elizabeth noted that the question of whether Jane was coerced, forced, or defrauded into participating in these acts remains somewhat ambiguous. “Jane often said she did it to please him, to make him happy,” Elizabeth explained, “and it’s still a gray area as to whether there was clear force, fraud, or coercion as defined for sex trafficking charges.”
Jurors appeared attentive throughout Jane’s testimony, focusing closely on her and the prosecution’s line of questioning. Several exhibits, including photographs of escorts and travel records, were shown to the jury, though not to the gallery or overflow room.
A key piece of evidence presented was an audio recording allegedly made by Combs on his iPhone during one of these hotel encounters. In the recording, Jane can be heard asking an escort named Don to wear a condom, a request that was apparently denied by Combs. Jane explained on the stand that she felt unable to insist on condom use because she did not want to disappoint Combs, who, according to her, preferred that escorts not use protection.
The prosecution appears to be building a strong case around the charge of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution, a count that does not require proof of force or coercion. Jane testified to being flown to multiple cities—including Los Angeles, Miami, and Turks and Caicos—with various escorts, often with travel arranged and paid for by Combs or his associates.
However, the defense is expected to challenge Jane’s credibility and motivations. Elizabeth pointed out that Jane maintained a relationship with Combs up until his arrest in 2024, sent explicit messages to escorts at his request, and benefited financially from the relationship, including having her $10,000 monthly rent paid. The defense may also highlight moments in her testimony where she expressed affection for Combs and appeared to be a willing participant in some activities.
In the courtroom, Combs’ demeanor was described as subdued compared to previous days. He was seen taking notes, communicating with his attorneys, and interacting with family members present in court, including his sons and mother. The judge previously admonished Combs for nodding towards jurors, a behavior he appeared to avoid during Friday’s session.
Questions remain about the potential influence of Combs’ presence on the jury. Elizabeth observed that Combs often makes eye contact with people in the gallery, which she found somewhat intimidating, and speculated that jurors might feel similarly.
As the prosecution’s case nears its conclusion, attention turns to who will testify next. While there is speculation about the appearance of key witnesses such as Christina Coram, the government has not yet confirmed its witness list.
The trial continues next week, with both sides preparing for what could be pivotal cross-examination of Jane and the presentation of further evidence.
