Ben Affleck is showing nothing but admiration for his wife, Jennifer Lopez, and her stunning work in her latest film, Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Speaking during the press event for his production company, Artists Equity, Affleck couldn’t stop beaming with pride when asked about Jennifer’s performance.

“I’m enormously proud of Kiss of the Spider Woman,” he said. “Bill Condon is brilliant — he’s a master in this genre. And this is a role that Jennifer is just so spectacular in. It’s exactly the kind of role she’s dreamed of playing her entire career.”

Affleck went on to explain that although Lopez has had many career highlights, this one feels particularly special.

“It’s hard to imagine she hasn’t had some of these opportunities before, but it’s true,” he said. “She really seized this with both hands and did something spectacular and beautiful.”

The Oscar winner also praised the film’s cast, including Kona and Diego, calling them “amazing.”

As the co-founder of Artists Equity, Affleck said projects like this one are exactly why he started the company in the first place:

“This is the thrill for me — being part of creating opportunities for movies like this to get made.”

When asked what convinced him to back Jennifer in such a demanding role, Affleck’s answer was heartfelt and practical:

“As a producer and financier, you have to decide what to invest in. For me, this was a no-brainer,” he said. “Jennifer’s been dying to play a role like this her whole life. I knew she’d be spectacular. Bill Condon knows how to bring that to life better than anyone. You never know for sure, but sometimes you just want to create the opportunity for lightning in a bottle.”

Affleck also opened up about the couple’s shared passion for filmmaking — and the importance of showing up for each other’s work.

“This is our company. This is our lifeblood,” he said. “What I love most is getting beautiful films made that I’m proud of. I can’t wait for people to see Kiss of the Spider Woman. Early audiences have been emotional and deeply invested. That’s the most rewarding part.”

Before wrapping up, the interviewer shifted to a more personal topic — Affleck’s children. When asked about his eldest daughter, who’s been praised for her confidence and poise, the proud dad’s face lit up.

“I could not be more proud of my children,” he said. “She’s amazing — she takes after her mom. I’m lucky to have a great partner, great kids. It’s the joy of my life, and it makes me happy every single day.”

With Kiss of the Spider Woman already generating emotional reactions from early viewers, and Affleck and Lopez standing side by side creatively and personally, Hollywood’s power couple seems to be entering yet another shining chapter — both on and off the screen.
