A close colleague of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk is urging Comedy Central to restore a South Park episode that satirized Kirk prior to his death.

Andrew Kulvette, executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, spoke out on September 17, just one week after Comedy Central pulled a scheduled rerun of the episode in light of Kirk’s fatal shooting.

“As someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park,” Kulvette wrote on social media, tagging Paramount Plus. “He told me many times he would want the episode back up.”

The episode, titled Got a Nut, originally premiered on August 6 and remains available on Paramount’s subscription-based streaming platform. However, a rerun slated for September 10 was removed from Comedy Central’s lineup after Kirk was killed earlier that same day.

The storyline followed Cartman imitating Kirk’s trademark college campus debate style, complete with his haircut and mannerisms. At one point, the episode featured a mock “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Master Debaters,” directly referencing the Turning Point USA co-founder.

Far from being offended, Kirk appeared to embrace the parody when it first aired. Speaking to Fox News’s Jesse Watters, he said he was “honored” by the inclusion and even uploaded a reaction video on YouTube.

“I think the whole thing is just awesome and hilarious,” Kirk said at the time. “Comedy Central, South Park—you crushed the water. I compulsively drink water on campus. It’s like, okay, boom, we’ve got to stay hydrated.”

Paramount and Skydance have not responded to Access Hollywood’s request for comment regarding the decision to shelve the rerun.

Meanwhile, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone issued a separate statement about the delay of a new episode planned for September 17, clarifying that the postponement was unrelated. “This one’s on us,” the pair wrote. “The episode wasn’t finished in time. Thanks to the fans and Comedy Central for their understanding. Tune in next week.”
