Megyn Kelly is taking aim at Congresswoman Katie Porter, calling her a “nightmare” and suggesting that the California Democrat — who’s reportedly eyeing a run for governor — has an “anger management problem.”
During a fiery segment on her show, Kelly discussed Porter’s tense interaction with a CBS California reporter during a recent interview, where Porter appeared visibly frustrated and abruptly ended the conversation after being pressed with follow-up questions.

“She’s so wonderful — she’s a gift,” Kelly said with heavy sarcasm. “Sometimes you’ve just got to love the Democrats because they wrap themselves in a beautiful Christmas box and deliver themselves right to your doorstep.”
According to Kelly, the viral interview — which featured Porter cutting off questions and calling the exchange “unnecessarily argumentative” — showcased the congresswoman’s inability to handle even mild scrutiny.
“She’s got an anger management problem,” Kelly claimed. “She can’t handle the slightest bit of pushback without blowing up. Her body language says it all — she’s done, she’s angry, and she knows it’s all being caught on camera.”
Kelly then played the now-viral moment where Porter snapped at a CBS journalist conducting a standard candidate Q&A segment, telling the reporter, “I don’t want to keep doing this — I’m going to call it.”

As Kelly described it:
“You can see the meltdown building in real time. Every other candidate answers the same questions, but she can’t handle it. The reporter’s calm, even polite — but Porter just unravels. It’s like watching a campaign slip away live on tape.”
Kelly went on to mock Porter’s reaction in another clip, where the congresswoman scolded a staffer for walking behind her during a pre-taped interview, saying sharply: “Get out of my shot.”
“That tells you everything,” Kelly said. “She expects everyone to bend to her mood. That kind of behavior doesn’t just happen once — it’s a pattern.”
The conversation then turned broader, with Kelly and co-host Paul Murray suggesting that many progressive politicians crumble under pressure because they’re “used to friendly treatment from the media.”
“Any conservative could handle that line of questioning easily,” Kelly said. “For Republicans, that’s a Tuesday. But for Democrats like Katie Porter, it’s apparently a trauma.”
Kelly closed the segment with her trademark bite:
“I’m actually rooting for her to win,” she said with a laugh. “California deserves her. It’s going to be a nightmare — but a highly entertaining one.”
The viral exchange has sparked debate online — with some defending Porter as assertive and unafraid to challenge unfair questioning, while others see Kelly’s critique as a broader reflection of how female politicians are often scrutinized for their tone and demeanor.
