Jennifer Lopez Recalls the Viral Moment a “Massive Bug” Crawled Up Her Body Mid-Concert — and Opens Up About Her Wardrobe Malfunction in Poland
Jennifer Lopez is laughing now, but during her Up All Night Live 2025 tour, things got a little too wild — literally.
While performing in Kazakhstan, the superstar found herself sharing the stage with an unexpected guest: a giant cricket that crawled up her body mid-song.
During her October 7th appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, J.Lo recounted the bizarre — and now viral — moment, explaining what went through her mind as it happened.

“I felt something, and I was like, ‘Okay, it’s probably just a bug flying around,’” she told Jimmy, laughing. “You know, you can see little bugs in the lights at outdoor venues. But no — it was crawling up my body the whole time!”
Trying not to break character, Lopez finished the song like a pro.
“I thought, whatever it is, just keep singing,” she said. “And then it got to my neck, and I was like, okay — this thing has legs!”
When Fallon played the clip, the crowd roared with laughter as Lopez described finally throwing the insect off — and realizing just how big it was.
“It looked like a helicopter! It even had a face,” she joked.
Wardrobe Malfunction in Warsaw
The “Let’s Get Loud” singer also revisited another viral moment from the same tour — a wardrobe malfunction during her concert in Warsaw, Poland, where her skirt suddenly fell apart onstage.
Jimmy asked if it was planned. Lopez quickly set the record straight:
“No, not at all! That outfit was made that day. I’d seen a photo of an old supermodel from the ’90s and said, ‘Let’s recreate that!’ They whipped it together last minute, and I decided to wear it on a whim. I went out there, and it just fell apart.”
Fortunately, Lopez handled it like the professional she is.
“Thank God I had big underwear on,” she said with a laugh, earning cheers from the audience.
A Family Affair: “Kiss of the Spiderwoman” Premiere
Beyond her tour adventures, Lopez is now focused on promoting her upcoming musical film, Kiss of the Spiderwoman — a dream role she’s been chasing for years. The project is especially personal, as it was produced by her ex-husband Ben Affleck, who serves as executive producer.
At the New York premiere, Lopez told Access Hollywood how meaningful it was to have her entire family — her mother, sisters, and kids — by her side.
“This movie is really important for us, for the Latino community,” she said. “It’s the first time Kiss of the Spiderwoman has been done with a full Latino cast, as it was meant to be. But it’s also a universal story — about love, humanity, and seeing ourselves in others. I think the world really needs that right now.”
She went on to reflect on how making the film was a source of healing during a time of personal growth:
“It’s like a love letter to cinema — to how art saves us. Doing this movie brought me so much joy. It helped me through difficult times.”
Her Kids’ Support Means Everything
Lopez also revealed that one of her twins is a big musical theater fan and was thrilled to attend the premiere.
“They even invited their friend — it turned into a full family night!” she said, beaming.
And as for her unexpected onstage guest — the now-famous cricket — Lopez is able to laugh about it.
“You know what? I’m just grateful,” she smiled. “To sing, to dance, to laugh — and sometimes to have a bug crawl up your body. It’s all part of the show!”
