Fresh off returning as the world’s most lethal assassin, Keanu Reeves sat down to talk about John Wick, aging with grace, his bond with co-stars, and—unexpectedly—Essex slang.

The actor reflected on his evolution as John Wick:

“For the first film, I didn’t know any judo or jiu-jitsu. By the sequel, I could start at a higher level. There’s more judo, more gun work, and definitely more exhaustion,” Reeves laughed.

Despite the intense choreography, Reeves insists it’s all about cooperation:

“It’s like a dance. Everyone I work with are professionals, and it’s about trust and rhythm.”

At 50+, he admits recovery takes longer but smiles when asked about his secret to youth:

“That’s kind of you to say. Maybe it’s just playing John Wick that keeps the chi alive.”

The conversation shifted to rumors. Does he still surf after Point Break? “Not in a long time.” Was he the first choice for Neo? “No, maybe the 50th.” Did a fast-food manager discover him for Bill & Ted? “Definitely not.”

Reeves spoke warmly of reuniting with Laurence Fishburne:

“He’s majestic, dangerous, funny—a great artist and friend.”

He praised rapper Common’s commitment to training and admired Riccardo Scamarcio’s charisma and vulnerability, adding that every John Wick character carries a mix of strength and mystery.

Then came the Essex connection—his mother is from there. Asked if he knew the slang, Reeves gamely tried:

“Reem” (looking cool) – “You look reem today.”

“Well jell” (jealous) – “Wow jell?” he repeated, amused.

“Vajazzle” – “You don’t need to know that,” the interviewer laughed.

Finally, a cheeky pitch: what if John Wick retired to sell candles, branded as “John Wicks”? Reeves chuckled as he was handed one with his face on it.
