Actors Mason Thames and McKenna Grace are opening up about their undeniable on-screen chemistry — and a few unscripted moments — from their upcoming romantic drama, Regretting You.

During the film’s red carpet premiere, Grace, 18, looked stunning in a pink dress and opened up about both her personal journey and her character’s emotional arc. She revealed that the movie — which explores love, loss, grief, and family bonds — offers “a little bit of everything for everyone.”

When asked about the romantic scenes, Grace laughed and admitted that not everything was scripted:

“I’d say Mason and I had more than a few improvised kisses that [director] Josh never said anything about on the day. He just let us do our thing,” she shared. “Ultimately, they got cut out of the film — and watching it now makes us laugh because we’re like, why did he let us do that?

Thames, 17, confirmed the story, adding with a grin:

“Yeah, that’s true. We improvised a lot of kisses. Funny enough, most of them didn’t even make it into the movie. I don’t know why we did it, but I didn’t mind,” he joked.

Regretting You promises an emotional rollercoaster filled with heartbreak, hope, and healing. “There are happy tears and sad tears,” Thames said. “This movie has a lot of stories that people can really relate to.”
