Speaking with emotion, Jordan described what the recognition means to him. “It’s gratitude for something you’ve been doing for such a long time,” he said. “To have people recognize your work—your peers, people you look up to and admire—acknowledge what you’ve contributed to the craft… it’s a special feeling. It’s kind of hard to put into words.”

What made the day even more meaningful was the energy in the room. “Seeing so many people you love and care about over the years show up in one place—that’s a big deal,” he said.

When asked how it felt to be honored on the same day Chadwick Boseman received his Walk of Fame moment, Jordan paused. “That was something special, honestly,” he said. “Who could have planned it any better? To start out the morning paying respects and honoring Chadwick Boseman, and then to have this honor for myself on the same day… I wouldn’t want to share it with anyone else.”

The actor also spoke about his family, who showed up proudly to support him. His father joked about wanting to stay in West Africa longer, and Jordan laughed when asked whether his family was trying to convince him to move back home. “I try to spend as much time with them as I can,” he said. “I don’t know about moving back in, but we’ll work something out. I’ll be close.”

Before leaving, Jordan reflected on his meaningful creative partnership with director Ryan Coogler, who was also present. “Very special,” Jordan said. “The work speaks for itself, but the brotherhood and family ties—it goes beyond the work. Having a community and a brotherhood like that is truly special.”
