Selena Gomez continues to prove that her artistry and advocacy go hand in hand. At her third annual Rare Impact Benefit, the superstar opened up about her ongoing mission to support youth mental health, her evolving music, and how her new single became part of the Nobody Wants This soundtrack.
When asked what drives her passion for mental health awareness, Gomez spoke with deep sincerity:
“This brand has always been about being mission-driven — inclusivity, making people feel seen, letting them know they’re not alone,” she said. “I’ve had family members and people in my life suffer from mental illness. It matters to me because it should matter to parents, schools, and communities.”
The Rare Impact Fund, created through her beauty brand Rare Beauty, has already raised over $20 million — with an ambitious goal of $100 million. “When we set that goal, I wanted people to think it was impossible,” Gomez explained. “But I believe it is possible. We can make a difference all over the world.”
For Gomez, the Rare Beauty brand isn’t just about makeup — it’s a platform for purpose. “I’m still a girly girl,” she laughed. “I love Rare Beauty, but I love it most because it gave me this — a chance to give back.”
When asked how she maintains her own mental health, Gomez was refreshingly honest:
“It’s important to surround yourself with people you trust — even if it’s just one person you can talk to about anything you’re feeling.”
As for her music, Gomez recently released a new single featured in the series Nobody Wants This. The collaboration came together naturally:
“It was actually a song I’d had for a couple of years,” she revealed. “It just worked perfectly with what they were doing. I thought it’d be something cute for my fans.”
Gomez also shared her excitement about the shocking finale of Only Murders in the Building, admitting she didn’t see the twist coming until late in filming. “They keep surprising us,” she said with a smile. “Even me, and I’m in the show!”

Looking ahead, Gomez is thrilled for the series’ next chapter in London. “It’s going to be a lot — the whole family,” she teased, “but I can’t wait.”
With her rare blend of vulnerability, strength, and purpose, Selena Gomez continues to embody what it means to use fame for good — turning her creativity into connection, and her platform into power.
