In the October 8 episode of the New Heights podcast, NFL star Travis Kelce — and Taylor Swift’s proud fiancé — had fans laughing and swooning when his brother Jason Kelce brought up one of the most talked-about songs from Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl: the steamy track “Wood.”

When Jason teased him, asking, “How do you feel about Wood? It’s… a very specific song,” Travis couldn’t help but laugh, responding:

“It’s a great song. Any song she references me in, I love it.”

But Jason wasn’t letting him off the hook so easily. With his signature wit, the former Eagles player pressed on, saying the song wasn’t just about Travis — it was about “a very specific part” of him.

“That lyric — Redwood tree ain’t hard to see — that’s pretty generous. If someone wrote a song about me, it’d be more like Japanese maple, sometimes can see,” Jason joked, sending both brothers into laughter.

Despite the teasing, Travis made it clear that he genuinely loves the track.

“That song’s beat is fantastic. It’s right up my alley. Taylor crushed it,” he said.

Later in the episode, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end spoke more earnestly about supporting Taylor and witnessing her creative process firsthand.

“I’m just the lucky man that gets to be the support system for Taylor while she drops one of the coolest albums I’ve ever listened to,” Travis said. “I saw her build this thing from the ground up — planning, writing, recording — even in the middle of her European tour. And now, seeing it all come together… it’s incredible.”

He added with pride:

“She’s happy with it, she’s proud of it, and I’m proud of her. She worked her ass off for this — and it shows.”

Jason closed the segment with a cheeky but heartfelt message:

“Congrats, Tay. Well done. Life of a Showgirl — nailed it.”
