Vin Diesel Ends Feud with Dwayne Johnson, Shares Heartfelt Praise

Vin Diesel has put rumors of tension with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to rest, expressing admiration for his co-star in a recent Instagram post.

On November 25th, the Fast & Furious star shared a heartfelt message about Johnson’s new film, The Smashing Machine, writing:

“One of the greatest gifts in life isn’t something you can buy. It’s the relationships forged along the way. Let me celebrate Dwayne. People don’t understand what it takes to uphold a global perception every single day.”

Diesel went on to share an anecdote about Mark Kerr, the role Johnson portrays in the film, before reflecting on their collaborative history:

“I remember asking our global family who they’d love to see me work with, and a woman named Jan left a comment saying her dream was for me to collaborate with Dwayne. What followed became one of the most dynamic pairings in cinema. Two strong personalities who pushed each other and created something unforgettable.”

From Fast & Furious Rivals to Reconciled Co-Stars

Dwayne Johnson joined the Fast & Furious franchise in 2011 as Luke Hobbs, co-starring with Diesel in multiple sequels, including the 2019 spin-off Hobbs & Shaw. Despite their box office success, tensions emerged during filming of a 2016 installment, leading Johnson to call out an unnamed male co-star—later confirmed to be Diesel—on Instagram. At the time, Johnson wrote:

“Some conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don’t.”

Diesel later admitted in 2021 that the friction stemmed from his attempt to push Johnson to deliver his best performance. That same year, Johnson announced his temporary departure from the franchise.

Brotherhood Restored

Two years later, signs of reconciliation appeared as Johnson confirmed he would return to the films. In June 2023, he posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“Last summer, Ben and I put all the past behind us. We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve and always take care of the franchise characters and fans that we love.”

Johnson further surprised fans when he appeared in a post-credits scene for Fast 10, signaling a new chapter in their professional and personal relationship.

With Diesel’s recent Instagram tribute, it seems the former rivals have fully mended fences, emphasizing that strong professional bonds and mutual respect can overcome even the most public conflicts.
