Happy Gilmore 2 and “Whiskers”

Margaret Qualley’s appearance began with Jimmy Fallon congratulating her on her role in Happy Gilmore 2. Directed by Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke, whom she previously worked with, the film is described as a “classic everyday lesbian detective thriller.” Qualley stars as a detective, with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans also featured in the cast.

 A Failed Setup

In a game of true or false, Qualley revealed some major “tea.” When Jimmy guessed that it was false that she tried to set up her mom, Andie MacDowell, with Bill Murray, Qualley revealed that the statement was true.

She explained that Bill Murray had just been backstage at the show tonight, and she put two and two together: he lives in Charleston, her mom lives in Charleston, and they are both single. While he told her they didn’t get along while filming Groundhog Day, she sees their “kind of rage towards each other” as a sign of chemistry. Qualley joked that she offered to connect them and said that if he has any sense, he’ll get her number and follow through.
