WYN Beauty Faces Lawsuit After Reports of Allergic Reactions to New Product; Serena Williams Promises Full Investigation
WYN Beauty, the fast-growing cosmetics brand founded by tennis legend Serena Williams, is facing a major lawsuit after several consumers reported allergic reactions allegedly caused by one of its newly launched skincare products.
The controversy centers around Radiance Renewal Serum, a product released earlier this summer and marketed as a clean, dermatologist-tested formula designed for sensitive skin. However, within weeks of the launch, multiple users began posting images and reviews online claiming they had experienced redness, rashes, and in some cases, swelling after using the serum.
According to legal filings made public this week, a group of consumers in California and New York have jointly filed a class-action lawsuit, accusing WYN Beauty of negligence, false advertising, and failure to properly disclose potential allergens in the product. Attorneys representing the plaintiffs claim that independent lab tests revealed “undisclosed or improperly labeled ingredients” that could cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals.
While the lawsuit has yet to be tried in court, the backlash online has already begun to affect the brand’s reputation. #WYNWarning trended briefly on social media platforms, with users debating product safety and demanding answers from the company.
In response to the controversy, Serena Williams issued a public statement on Thursday, addressing customer concerns and pledging a full internal investigation.
“As the founder of WYN Beauty, I take these reports very seriously. Our mission has always been to create products that empower and protect — never harm — our community. I have instructed our team to work with third-party labs and dermatology experts to investigate the matter thoroughly and transparently.”
She continued:
“To anyone who has had a negative experience, I want to personally say: I hear you, I see you, and I will ensure that you receive the answers — and the care — you deserve.”
WYN Beauty has temporarily halted sales of the Radiance Renewal Serum across all platforms while the investigation is ongoing. Customers who purchased the product have been advised to discontinue use and may request a full refund through the company’s official website.
Industry experts say this case could serve as a wake-up call for newer beauty brands navigating the competitive clean beauty space. “Consumers today are highly informed and quick to react. Transparency and accountability are critical when dealing with skincare products, especially when celebrities are involved,” said Dr. Angela Hartman, a consumer safety analyst.
Despite the setback, many fans and customers remain supportive of Serena’s leadership and proactive response. “She’s handling this like a true professional,” one fan wrote on Instagram. “Owning the issue and working to make it right — that’s what builds long-term trust.”
As WYN Beauty moves forward with its investigation and legal response, Serena Williams once again finds herself balancing public scrutiny with grace and accountability — both on and off the court.
