Keanu Reeves has just turned 60—a milestone that might slow many people down, but for him, it marks the beginning of a new surge of energy, a renewed zest for journeys, creativity, and unfinished dreams.
“More zest, but maybe a little less zing,” Reeves laughed when asked about life in his sixties. “Yeah, more zest.”
From Motorcycles to Outer Space
Together with co-founder Gard Hollinger, Reeves has transformed Arch Motorcycle into a hub of creativity—not just designing bikes but exploring bold ideas, from the rugged shores of Norway to the cutting-edge technology of 3D-printed rockets.
When asked if he would consider a trip to Mars, Reeves quipped:
“He can go, and I’ll wave him off.”
Still, he admitted, “I’d love to see the Earth from space. Just to see the Blue Planet—that would be enough.”
The “Bucket List” at 60
When it comes to dreams yet to be fulfilled, Reeves didn’t hesitate:
“Racing! Getting the next bike models done. And a ride on Australia’s Great Ocean Road—that has to be on the bucket list.”
For Reeves, it’s not only about projects, but about embracing the fleeting nature of time:
“We only live once, so we have to live it up. Time is a limitation, and the question is—what can we create, what can we do with the opportunities we’re given?”
Memories with River Phoenix
Among his many on-screen motorcycle scenes, Reeves fondly recalls one above all: riding a Norton with River Phoenix across the desert.
“Just saying that out loud is pretty cool,” he smiled. It was more than a movie moment—it was a memory of friendship and youth.
From Rejection to Partnership
His partnership with Hollinger also began on a humorous note. Reeves once came asking for bike modifications—only to be turned away.
“He didn’t even let me in the shop. I was literally stuck outside in the parking lot,” Reeves laughed. “But then he showed me what he actually does. That rejection turned into collaboration, and eventually, we built a motorcycle together.”
Zest at Sixty
For Reeves, everything—whether Arch Motorcycle or his new documentary project—circles back to the same spirit: joy and creativity.
“When you see the smiles on people’s faces as they share their stories, that’s inspiring. That’s what it’s all about.”
At 60, Keanu Reeves continues to push forward—with motorcycles, space dreams, cinema, and above all, with an unshakable love for life.
