This is the story of Peyton Mabry, a former cheerleader and social-media influencer whose life changed forever the moment an unexpected package appeared on her family’s doorstep.

A Normal Life Shattered Overnight

On June 1, 2021, Peyton, then fresh out of Texas Christian University and building a thriving career as a digital marketing influencer, opened her front door to find a mysterious gift left in the middle of the night.

She had no idea it marked the beginning of a nightmare.

“He had hand-delivered a gift in the middle of the night,”
Peyton recalls.
“And he totally changed my world forever.”

Peyton had spent years cheering competitively, winning national titles and even a world championship. After college, she found success promoting luxury automobiles and international brands online. Her following was growing. Her future looked bright.

But someone was watching her from the shadows — and he refused to go away.

A Stranger Obsessed

Her stalker, 40-year-old Robert Bo Bevers, was a man Peyton had never met, never spoken to, never even seen. But once he decided she should notice him, the harassment escalated relentlessly and violently.

What began as anonymous gifts quickly turned into:

Nighttime visits
Lurking outside her home
Hundreds of drive-bys
Appearances on security cameras
Middle-of-the-night flower deliveries
Increasingly aggressive attempts to contact her

“It was hundreds of times. No doubt in my mind,”
Peyton said of the stalking.

When Bevers knocked on her front door, Peyton finally involved police, and a protective order was issued.

But the nightmare didn’t stop.

The Protective Order That Backfired

In a shocking twist, Bevers appealed the protective order — and won. It was overturned. But instead of calming down, he immediately escalated.

Within hours, the messages started.

Threatening. Dominating. Vulgar. Delusional.

“You are going to do what I tell you to do,” one message said.
“You will comply. I’m the man of this house. You will follow my orders.”

Others were sexually graphic, racist, violent, and targeted not only Peyton but her entire family.

“He’s a vile individual,” she said.
“His messages went from romantic delusion to the most racist, vulgar, sexually motivated content you could imagine.”

Her life began to fall apart. Just walking to her car became terrifying.

“It was flight-or-fight every single day.”

A Sinister Family Connection

CBS News Texas uncovered a disturbing twist:
Peyton’s stalker is the son of a convicted serial stalker and rapist.

Bevers’ father, Lanny Bevers, is currently serving a life sentence in Texas for stalking and repeatedly sexually assaulting a woman. That victim later wrote a book that helped inspire changes in Texas stalking laws.

The nightmare, it seemed, ran in the family.

Peyton had every reason to fear for her life.

Standing Up in Court — and Fighting Back

When the threatening messages continued even after police involvement, prosecutors moved forward.

Last month, Peyton had to face her stalker in a Collin County courtroom.

Despite years of trauma, she stood firm.

“I was ready. I was prepared,”
she said.
“I had a shield of strength around me.”

A jury convicted Bevers, and the judge issued a maximum sentence: 20 years in prison — the longest stalking sentence ever recorded in Texas.

Peyton cried with relief.

“I honestly don’t have the words to express my gratitude,” she said.
“They did their part. And it was moving.”

The Collin County District Attorney praised Peyton’s courage, saying her persistence may save other women’s lives.

A New Beginning — with Lingering Fear

At just 28, Peyton wants to rebuild the life that was stolen from her. She hopes to use her ordeal to advocate for stalking victims, raise awareness, and push for reform.

But her stalker will be eligible for parole in just three years — a fact that haunts her.

“It’s changed how I walk through the world,” she said.
“It’s changed how I think, how I feel, everything.”

Still, she refuses to let fear define her future.

A Story of Survival — and Strength

Peyton Mabry survived a stalking nightmare that could have ended tragically. Her bravery, persistence, and refusal to stay silent helped secure a historic sentence — and may protect countless others.

Her message now is simple but powerful:

No victim should ever feel alone.
No threat should ever be ignored.
And no stalker is beyond accountability.
